In tennis, when your forehand breaks down, a coach steps in to correct your technique. But when your mental game breaks down? People just tell you, “Stop being frustrated.” Growing up competing in South America and eventually earning a full scholarship to play NCAA Division I tennis at Boise State, I heard that empty advice constantly. I cried, I yelled, and I lost matches I should have won. I learned the hard way that no matter how much talent you have, you will only ever perform to the extent of your mental capabilities.

I was the athlete desperately looking for real mental tools, but all I found were people telling me what to feel, not how to build the structure to actually manage it. That realization changed my life. Halfway through college, I switched my major from Business to Psychology, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with one clear mission: to become the mentor I never had.

My parents were incredibly supportive and always wanted the best for me, but like most tennis parents, they simply didn’t have the professional tools to help me navigate match anxiety and on-court heartbreak.

Tennis opened countless doors for me, and MindSet Academy is my way of giving back. I am here to look at your child not just as a tennis player, but as a human being. My goal is to teach them that consistency and discipline will always outlast motivation, and to provide both athletes and parents with the exact mental frameworks needed to thrive inside and outside the court.

A little bit of my work:

My Passion

My passion goes far beyond watching athletes win matches. I am driven by the transformation of the human being behind the athlete. Tennis is a demanding, beautiful vehicle for life. When we build resilience, consistency, and frustration tolerance, we aren’t just creating better tennis players—we are forming well-rounded humans who happen to be athletes. When my players start using the mental frameworks we built for the court to navigate their everyday lives, that is when the real victory happens.

I love witnessing the exact moment a player’s mindset shifts. It is the transition from an unconscious “I can’t” to a conscious “I can, and here is how I will do it.” It is watching them realize that a mistake is just one less wrong answer on the way to the right one, and that pressure isn’t a threat—it is a privilege. You don’t have to compete; you get to compete. My ultimate goal as a coach is to actually make myself obsolete. I want my athletes to build such strong, independent daily habits that they no longer need me by their side, knowing the tools they built at MindSet Academy will belong to them forever.

Finally, this journey is a team effort. The athlete, the parents, and the coach form a vital ecosystem. The most rewarding phone calls I receive aren’t about trophies. They are from parents who call to say, “My child smiled during a tough match today,” or “They told me they were proud of their effort, regardless of the score.” Seeing players truly enjoy the battle, and parents finding peace in their child’s emotional growth, is the exact reason I do this work every single day.

My Goals

The ultimate goal is to change the culture of junior tennis. Just as a player relies on a tennis coach for technique and a fitness coach for physical strength, MindSet Academy is designed to be the vital, missing piece of the performance puzzle. Mental conditioning shouldn’t be an emergency response to a crisis; it must be a fundamental pillar of a player’s development. I built this academy to be the bridge for athletes who know they need mental training but have no idea where to find the right structure to actually execute it.

My goal for every player I work with is to instill what I call the “MindSet Signature.” If a spectator walks past your court when you are down 4-5 facing a break point, they shouldn’t be able to guess the score. I want them to see an athlete who is entirely composed, executing their routines with unwavering consistency, and competing with the exact same focus, passion, and positive body language as if they were winning the match.

I want MindSet Academy to be the ultimate hub for humans who happen to be athletes, reaching every player who needs these tools. My dream is to equip your child with everything they need so that, eventually, they can thrive entirely on their own. At the end of the day, my main goal is to make their lives better—not just as athletes or professionals, but as human beings.
